Hi, my
name is Valerie. This site is a natural outflow of a journey I find
myself on at this stage of life; I invite you to join me. I have found
myself totally burnt out from a good paying corporate job, along with
the heavy hours that goes along with it and feeling like I didn't have a
good handle on the whole work life balance issue. Yet, I saw no stopping
or slowing down anywhere on the horizon. I was feeling as though my
schedule dictated my life, instead of me dictating my schedule. It was
like time was going faster and the demands and to-do lists were growing
at an equally steady pace. I felt as though life was happening to me and
I had no choices anymore, but what I was craving was a sense of deep
rest, comfort and peace and balance. A slowing down to smell the roses,
so to speak.
I've also got a blog at
Val Step By
Step Journey I invite you over there to share this new life
journey and share your thoughts and feelings as well.
Something’s got to give here; I knew I needed to make some changes
before something very serious happened. I knew I didn’t want to live
like this and I needed to take better care of myself. I have beautiful
grandchildren (and children of course) I long to spend lots of time
with, to offer to them a break from the frenzy of life when at our
house, and to be a good example to them in their lives.
I was at a major crossroads in life, wondering, “what do I really want?”
How do I want to live? How does reality fit into the picture, after all,
the bills still go on and need to be paid? How do I balance work and
life?
This website is a resource tool dedicated to finding articles, and
ideas, which may lead to a more comfortable, balanced life. I see people
all around me who also seem to feel this way and resonate with similar
desires to slow down and enjoy life more, with those they love. When I
say comfortable life, I don’t necessarily mean wealthy, as I don’t think
they mean one and the same. Financial strain is a huge source of stress;
therefore there are lots of ideas on this site for possibly raising your
income level and/or reducing debt.
Finances also have a strong tie to how much time you have available
and the resources to do the things you want.
Hope you enjoy!
Valerie
