is necessary to obtain traffic. Website traffic means people or
visitors to your website. Without traffic your new website is

Directory? What you do is set up a directory of websites on your

page and offer people the option of adding their own link
(relevant to your niche) to the directory. Many people will link
to your directory and website, and this will give you free
advertising as well.
Try to get other web owners to
sell or give away one of your products. Choose a product that
might not sell that well on your website and offer it for a free
give-away to another website owner (again, relevant to your
niche). You get free advertising from this because your business
ad will be on the product or the product package offered. This
is a win-win situation for both you and the other website owner.
Make up a banner ad and
exchange it with another site in your topic range-one that is in
your niche but that doesn't actually directly compete with you.
Again, this is a situation where both web owners benefit.
Write articles for other
websites for content on their sites. Include a link in your
article to your website or in a resource box at the end of the
article. This benefits the other web owner by giving them fresh
content to help increase their rankings with the search engines
and by helping them to attract visitors to their website...and
you get the free advertising.
Respond to questions on blogs
about your topic. Give real information and quality answers and
blog readers come to consider you an expert in your area. When
they need a product or service in that area, they will think of
you and your website first.
All of the above are ways which
you can get a lot of advertising for your website for free. Free
advertising can be as effective (or sometimes even more
effective) than advertising that you pay for. Free doesn't have
to mean that it isn't worth anything. If you try some of the
above tactics you will surely find that more visitors are
attracted to your website.
