Let Kids Be Part of a DreamWorld in Own Rooms

It's a great activity - decorating a room for your young daughter. You can experiment with so much, there's so much you can try out - and you know what makes your efforts worthwhile? Your daughter's smiles and leaps of joy at the end of it all. So put your best into it, make sure your little girl's room is just as precious as she is, just as lovable, and make certain that it's not just a room - it's somewhere she can develop herself.

What you need to do first is fix upon a theme. According to the nursery rhyme, little girls like sugar and spice and all things nice - so try a nice girlie theme with light colors, a floral feel - to make it clear that it's a girl's room. Explore the Ocean theme - that's one that you could play around a lot with. Girls love bright colors, and with the Ocean theme, you'll have lots of options to experiment with, and try different shades and hues.

In this specific kid's room decor, you can try a wall mural to depict a sandy beach and ocean waves - perhaps some seashells and crabs. Hire professional mural artists to paint this scene, using shades of blues, sea-greens, and other such aqua colors. To give the illusion of a sky, paint clouds on the ceiling too. Refer to a photograph or painting for a seaside scene- you'll get ideas quick enough. You'll almost hear the waves splashing! Remember to visualize - that's the most important thing. Explore the Dolls theme.

Go for wall decals of flowers - roses, orchids and other kinds. Arrange fresh and artificial flowers to go the whole hog. It's well known that little girls love flowers - and the floral theme could well be the best thing you do to the room! Of course, these are not the only themes available - you could opt for Stars, Moon-shine and Countryside themes. Remember to consult your daughter - since it's her room, ultimately, it's her opinion that'll count.

Start working upon the theme once it's been selected and start spreading it around the room. Make a decision about the main color for the walls, and the secondary color -select the furniture, go for colors that complement the walls. Keeping the theme in mind, select wallpapers and drapings, get artists to paint a mural, try to get wall decals pertaining to the theme. For example, if it's a Moon-shine theme, you could have your daughter's comforter embroidered with patterns of the stars and the moon. Apply similar designs to the wall mural, and have glow-in-the-dark stars painted on the ceiling. You could even go for star shaped magnets and clips on the bulletin board, if you want to be a little more creative!

Remember that all you need is creativity and enthusiasm to get the room of your daughter's dreams. Play around with ideas, have a kid's mural and kid's wall stickers that your daughter will like, browse through catalogues and interior design books, and listen to your daughter's suggestions - we're sure the kid's room decor will turn out fabulous!
